End of the Year Tournament - Pizza party and awards given to league leaders and champions
Benefits for Using Facility: Teams are allowed to reserve cage/machine for $25/Hour to Practice (*Normal rate is $40)
The cage is divided up into sections: Singles, Doubles, Triples, and Home Runs.
Ground balls up the middle are singles. Everything else is designated for line drives hits.
Groundballs to the sides and pop-ups that hit the top part of the cage are outs. Any line drives hit to the side of the cage before the designated hit areas are also outs.
Each hitter is allowed 2 swings/at bat. If the hitter gets a hit on the first swing, he can chose to accept the hit or try for another swing, but must take result of second swing.
Hitters will have 3 pitches to swing twice. Each hitter is allowed to take 1 pitch per at bat.
Base runners are moved according to hits. (A guy on second base will advance one base on a single)
Each team gets 3 outs per inning - 9 Innings per game.
Each team will have a roster of 5 players which must be registered at beginning of season. Teams must have at least 4 present for a complete team during a game. If there are only 3 players present, the game still can be played but an out is assessed after the 3rd hitter. Teams cannot play with just 2 players.
Mercy Rule = 10 runs After 7 Innings and 8 Runs after 8 Innings.
Teams must show up 15 minutes early for scheduled time and will be allowed batting practice (5 swings/10 pitch max). An umpire is allowed to start at designated time if players are still not there yet. Late players will not be able to get any warm up swings in the cage.
Each schedule will be made weekly. Emails will be sent out each week for schedule reminders. Schedule for each week will also be posted on RLD Website: www.rldindoorbaseballfacility.com
If there are requests for times, please do so by Tuesday before the Sunday.
There will be an administrator/umpire for each game keeping score/outs/stats. Arguing with an umpire can result in a forfeit and if it continues, can result with a team getting kicked out of the league with no refund.
Bats - Youth indoor hitting league must use a bat with a USSSA stamo or USA bat. Largest bat a player can use is 2 & 5/8.
